The Power of Vulnerability

I was just watching Oprah interview one of my favourite authors, Brene Brown, and out came one of the most golden quotes I’ve ever heard…

“Vulnerability is the birthplace of everything we’re hungry for.”

Playing the victim and blaming others for the way we feel is a common behaviour we turn to for protection. Yet, this wall we put up is the very object in the way of coming to the result we’re seeking. Show up with your arms uncrossed and be honest. Having a vulnerable discussion is one of the most freeing sensations in the world – for you and for the receiver.

Contrary to how society has raised us, our greatest strength is in our vulnerability.

That is how we find peace in ourselves and in our relationships.

Love Brene Brown, her Vulnerability Ted Talk is one of my favourites, one of her books, “The Gifts of Imperfection”. It’s a must read. Glad you posted this – so often we need the subtle reminder. Good Share.
